Although the ECHOLOT project has only been operational for a few months, it has already held two plenary meetings, demonstrating strong engagement and enthusiasm for shaping the future of cultural heritage data in Europe.

ECHOLOT Consortium members

The official kick-off meeting of the ECHOLOT project took place online on the 14th and 15th January 2026. It provided an excellent opportunity to review all work packages, allocate tasks, and define the project’s roadmap for the next 36 months.

The second consortium meeting was held at the University of the Basque Country in Bilbao, Spain, from the 9th to 11th March. In addition to enabling partners to meet in person, the meeting focused on gathering requirements and coordinating activities. Special attention was given to collecting input from third-party participants involved in the case studies. A dedicated workshop was organised, featuring user-centred design activities such as co-designing user personas, user stories, and journey maps.

The ECHOLOT consortium aims to revolutionise the provision and reuse of high-quality, interoperable Cultural Heritage data with AI-powered enrichment. By integrating seamlessly into the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH), the project seeks to empower both the research and creative sectors.
