ECHOES is thrilled to introduce the 12 projects that have been awarded funding by the first Cascading Call for contributions of data to the Cultural Heritage Cloud.

Castel D'Angelo, Rome

The Castel Sant’Angelo (MOH)

Ruppendorf, Germany

The Water Castle, Ruppendorf, Germany (RuDIHeritage)

The data being provided comes from:

  • FinFAIR: a Baltic–Nordic corpus with a workflow for creating Heritage Digital Twins,
  • Moher: Central European mosaic artworks with analytical and conservation data,
  • LandArchIE: landscape LiDAR and satellite archeological data from Ireland for prehistoric to early medieval time periods,
  • APACH: use cases based on an interoperable HBIM (Historic Building Information Modelling) framework,
  • M2M: 3D reconstructions of key monuments from Ephesus, Turkey,
  • SMARTWAYS: a cultural heritage Points of Interest (POIs) dataset from the Romea Strata and Via Francigena pilgrimage routes in Italy,
  • MOH: documentation and datasets from the Mausoleum of Hadrian, the Castel Sant’Angelo
  • SAVOR: a bilingual (Romanian–Italian) corpus of approximately 3,300 traditional recipes,
  • SPARRK-UA: datasets for at-risk cultural heritage in museum emergency settings in Ukraine,
  • Sawubona: information provided by communities of origin for objects acquired and traded over centuries of colonial rule,
  • RuDIHeritage: the local heritage of Ruppendorf (municipality of Klingenberg, Saxony, Germany), provided by citizens, researchers, public institutions, and technology partners,
  • BLACKAXES.DH: geolocated prehistoric stone artefact records and accompanying maps and descriptions from the Sauer river valley, Luxembourg.

As well as providing a rich selection of data, these projects will be working closely with ECHOES to integrate their information into the Cultural Heritage Cloud. They will be the first pilot projects using the Cloud technology and their feedback will prove invaluable for building an ECCCH ecosystem that is user-friendly, efficient and attractive to end users.
