ECHOES hosted a workshop at the DARIAH Annual Event in Rome on the 26th of May 2026 to examine how user needs relating to the Cultural Heritage Cloud are identified, interpreted, and translated into infrastructure development. Rather than seeking a single methodology, participants explored commonalities, differences, and ways to improve alignment between user-needs research and technical implementation.
After the participants identified a number of key findings, these were prioritised and the next steps agreed upon.
The workshop concluded that ECHOES must now move beyond understanding user needs and focus on systematically converting those needs into validated services, workflows, and infrastructure improvements through continuous engagement with user communities.
