The European Days of Conservation-Restoration (EDCR) will run from the 12th-18th October with a week of stories, perspectives, and exchanges from across the profession. Conservator-restorers, institutions, educators, partners, and heritage communities will be invited to share experiences, projects, and reflections that reveal the people, decisions, and expertise behind the care of our shared heritage. The EDCR is a moment to make conservation-restoration more visible, celebrate the dedication behind the profession, and strengthen the conversations that will help carry it forward.
The EDCR joins forces this year with ENCoRE (European Network for Conservation-Restoration Education), Michael Culture Association, and ECHOES (see Friday the 16th October), bringing together complementary perspectives and communities to enrich the 2026 edition and expand the dialogue around the future of conservation-restoration.
Each day follows a specific theme:

The European Days of Conservation-Restoration (EDCR), currently celebrating its 9th edition, was initiated by the European Network of Conservator-Restorers’ Organisations (E.C.C.O.) as an annual celebration across Europe to raise awareness of the essential role of conservation-restoration in safeguarding cultural heritage. Its aim is to make visible the value that conservation-restoration brings to society, by highlighting projects and practices led by conservator-restorers in museums, ateliers, universities, and heritage sites. Through this initiative, E.C.C.O. and its members invite the public, policymakers, and stakeholders to discover how professional conservation- restoration ensures the authenticity, sustainability, and continued accessibility of our shared cultural heritage for present and future generations.
